Chancellor of the University of Sam Ratulangi Prof. Dr. Ir. Ellen Joan Kumaat M.Sc DEA in her speech said: congratulations to 883 graduates for the competencies that have been achieved through hard work, commitment and sacrifice. A long and intense journey has enriched you especially in terms of skill knowledge and character.
The Chancellor reminded that our time is limited and mostly filled with work, of course there will be obstacles, difficulties and temporary defeats. But remember you are shaped by the process far more than the results obtained, therefore never neglect the process for a purpose.
When people slam the door in front of you, never give up. Almost all successful people experience rejection at some point in their life. Albert Einstein, the person who formulated the theory of relativity, was labeled by his own teacher as "sluggish" and "mentally disabled", he won the Nobel Prize in Physics.
The Chancellor advised, to live life with enthusiasm whatever the conditions, always give your best. Don't stop dreaming and acting, the world really needs people with high character and culture who can make people live better. As the motto of the Founder of the University of Sam Ratulangi: wherever we are, life must be better.
