
UNSRAT RECTOR PROVIDES A DECREE ON ADMISSION OF NEW STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES AND DISTRIBUTION OF SCHOLARSHIPS
Manado, February 14, 2025 – Sam Ratulangi University (Unsrat) has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting educational inclusivity by providing opportunities for students with disabilities to continue their studies on campus. Today, the Chancellor of Unsrat, Prof. Dr. Ir. Oktovian BA Sompie, M.Eng, IPU, ASEAN.Eng., provide a Decision Letter for Acceptance of New Students with Disabilities and at the same time provide scholarships to Steven Kowaas, a postgraduate student of government science who also serves as Chair of the Center for Disability Access General Elections (PPUAD).
The handover of the Decree and scholarships is part of Sam Ratulangi University's efforts to create a more inclusive campus, where every individual, regardless of physical condition, has an equal opportunity to receive higher education. Steven Kowaas, who is also active in disability-friendly general election activities, is a real example for other disabled students. Steven Kowaas expressed gratitude for the opportunity given by Sam Ratulangi University. "This is a big step for us, students with disabilities, to continue to advance and achieve."
In addition to the scholarship handover, the event was also attended by a number of university officials and lecturers. This activity is expected to motivate more students from various backgrounds to continue their higher education and actively participate in campus life.
