Inauguration of the UNSRAT Molecular Laboratory
Chancellor of the University of Sam Ratulangi Prof. Dr. Ir. Ellen Joan Kumaat M. Sc DEA in her speech said: The background for the establishment of this laboratory is the good cooperation between Sam Ratulangi University and the Provincial Government of North Sulawesi, as well as mutual concern in overcoming the covid-19 pandemic.
UNSRAT, which has human resources and has five PCR tools for Covid-19 detection, in collaboration with the Provincial Government is determined to build a Covid-19 PCR swab examination laboratory, and from its development this collaboration has been enhanced to build a WHO-standard Molecular Laboratory.
This laboratory is not only a covid-19 examination but can also be developed for other Bio Molecular examinations.
The Chancellor hopes that this collaboration can develop into a bio-molecular center that will support bio-molecular diagnostics and other research in the bio-molecular field, and with the functioning of this laboratory there will be an acceleration of performance in diagnosing diseases.
Governor of North Sulawesi Mr. Olly Dondokambey SE in his speech said: With the establishment of the Molecular Laboratory at Sam Ratulangi University, we can detect from the beginning this pandemic and its spread everywhere.
In the field of economy and health, the Governor's hope must go together and nothing comes first.
The governor hopes that the collaboration with Sam Ratulangi University can continue and that we can do many good things for the people in North Sulawesi.
